What Do We Want To Know?
We would like to describe the incidence, risk factors, clinical features, and outcomes in children hospitalized with invasive Group A Streptococcus (iGAS) infections and Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream (SAB) infections. We hope that this will help us learn which kids get these infections and why some kids get more sick with these illnesses than others.
How Are We Doing It?
We will look at medical records of children who are under the age of 18 and have a diagnosis of SAB or iGAS. We will use these records to gain a better understanding of who gets these infections, how they present, how they’re managed, and why some kids get more sick than others.
How Is The Study Going?
This study will be starting in 2024.
Who Is Included?
All children under the age of 18 who have a diagnosis of either SAB or iGAS.
